2017 FIBA Asia Champions Cup to tip off in China

August 17: The 2017 FIBA Asia Champions Cup will take place in Chenzhou, China from 22 September to 30 September, 2017 making it the second straight year that China will host the tournament. In this season's competition, this season's reigning CBA champions Xinjiang Flying Tiger will fly the flag on behalf of China. 

It has yet to be confirmed which 10 basketball teams have qualified to play in this edition of the FIBA confederation's tournament but will include the 6 league champions from the top 6 leagues in Asia, the top 3 clubs from the previous 2016 FIBA Asia Champions Cup and the current champions of the host country's basketball league. As of now, 8 clubs has qualified to compete in this year's tournament.

The 2017 FIBA Asia Champions Cup, previously known as the Asian Basketball Confederation Champions Cup until 2002, will be the 26th staging of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup, which is the Asian club championship for professional basketball. As reported by Sohu, only 5 Chinese clubs have taken part in the previous tournaments and have won 4 championships, 4 runners-up titles and 1 third place.
