The Spanish sports brand Joma has announced that the Chinese actress Li Bingbing has become the brand’s ambassador in China.

Under the agreement signed by the two sides, Joma will reportedly launch a specialized series of sports and fashion products partnering with Li, who most notably becomes Joma’s first ever female ambassador in China.

Founded in 1965, Joma is a Spanish sports clothing manufacturer which currently produces footwear and clothing for football, futsal, basketball, volleyball, running, tennis, padel and fitness.

In June 2016, Joma entered the Chinese market, targeting the “New Middle Class” born after 1985 as its core customers.

Li Bingbing is a Chinese actress and singer who rose to fame with her role in Seventeen Years (1999) and since then has received critical acclaim for her roles in A World Without Thieves (2004) and other Chinese movies. Li has also starred in the Hollywood blockbusters Resident Evil: Retribution (2012) and Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014).
