Borussia Dortmund to collaborate with Xi’an Physical Education University

By Andrea Huang 17 Sep 2018

Bundesliga football club, Borussia Dortmund recently signed a strategic partnership with Xi’an Physical Education University with the two parties to collaborate with each other in football coaching and exchanges.

In particular, it has been reported by Xinhua News that the two parties are going to  collaborate in the following areas: Xi’an Physical Education University will take advantage of Dortmund’s training system, ideas, coaches and management to raise the quality of the university’s education; the two parties will conduct regular communication and exchanges; the university will organize regular trips for its students and teachers to visit the club; the two parties will co-organize football summer camps, competitions and training for campus football teachers/coaches and will cooperate in exploring other football culture opportunities.

Located in the capital city of Shaanxi Province and established in 1954, Xi’an Physical Education University was one of the original six sports colleges in the People’s Republic of China. It is also the only sports higher education organization in the Northwest of China according to Baidu Baike.

Even though various international sports organizations have established relationships or  partnerships with organizations in China, the northwestern part of China seems to have  been relatively less touched. This partnership will obviously help to fill this gap and help with careers in sport, particularly in football in this province in the northwest of China. In return, it is hoped that it can help increase BVB’s brand popularity in this part of China.
