By Andrea Huang 26 Sep 2018

The 2018 Shanghai International Elite 10k Race has signed up GuocoLand China as the title sponsor of the event. GuocoLand is a real estate developer headquartered in Singapore, with operations in China.

The 2018 Shanghai International Elite 10k Race is the third edition of the event. The race was selected as one of the bronze road races by the Chinese Athletic Association in 2016 and was upgraded to a silver road race in 2017. Together with the Shanghai International Half Marathon and the Shanghai International Marathon, the three races constitute a complete series of marathons in Shanghai.

Scheduled to take place on October 21 in the Putuo District, the 2018 edition will have 6,400 runners in the 10k road race, an increase of 1000 from 2017 and 600 runners in the family run.

GuocoLand China has been located in Changfeng Eco Business District in Putuo District, Shanghai, since 2005. They have also constructed a large-scale business and leisure real estate project “Changfeng City” in the area which includes office buildings, a square, a mall, a five star hotel and an apartment-style hotel.

The 2018 Shanghai International Elite 10k Race route in the Putuo District is mainly run along the Changfeng Eco Business District.

The General Manager of GuocoLand China, Han Deming, said that running signifies self-discipline and consistency which are important for both individuals and corporations. Running can also help to keep people healthy which is a key factor in realizing their responsibilities to their employers, work colleagues and family. This is also the reason they sponsored the event.
