LaLiga, founding member of the Sino-Spanish Business Advisory Council

LaLiga, together with other Spanish and Chinese companies will be part of the Sino-Spanish Business Advisory Council, a top level platform available to both governments and intended to strengthen the economic and trade relations between the two countries.

November 27th, 2018 - LaLiga will be one of the founding members of the Business Advisory Council, a platform created by Spanish and Chinese companies which has been launched coinciding with the visit to Spain of Xi Jinping, president of the People's Republic of China.

Together with Zhong Shan, Minister of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, and Reyes Maroto, the Spanish Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism, more than 30 companies such as Huawei, BYD, China Construction Bank from China and LaLiga, Telefonica, Maxam and Santander Bank from Spain were represented at the event organized by the Confederation of Employers and Industries of Spain (CEOE) and the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism.

Both Chinese and Spanish companies aim to promote the mutual understanding and explore new opportunities to collaborate within the framework of the Sino-Spanish friendship.

LaLiga is fully committed tousing sport, and football in particular, to bring countries and people closer together and has, over the years, used its experience and methodology to help Chinese football grow.

"We are receiving an income in this market and also learning from our experience in China, so we want to come back with something tangible for the fans and the football industry here. What we can add to this market is knowledge about football and, through our cooperation with different institutions, we aim to not only to promote football, but also the values of sport, which is important for us", Sergi Torrents, LaLiga's country manager for China said.

LaLiga's commitment with China is a longstanding one and projects such as the agreement signed with CEIAE (China Education Association for International Exchange), a cooperation project through which 120 LaLiga coaches have been sent to China to train young footballers. So far, over 500,000 players have been trained under this program.

In addition, the Summer Campuses held in the last two years in cities such as Shenyang, Qinghuandao, Shanghai and Qingdao allowed LaLiga to work with young players of all levels and help with other ongoing projects, among them the Madrid Youth Training Centre. A joint collaboration between the Chinese Football Association and Madrid Football Federation, the initiative set in the Spansh capital will be presented this Friday and takes the cooperation between Chinese sports institutions and LaLiga to a new level. 

"China will remain one of our most important global markets. It is a country with a clear passion for football and a strong desire to grow. We want LaLiga to play a key role in the development of Chinese football,” concluded Oscar Mayo, International Development Director at LaLiga.
