The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) on Friday asked for China’s assistance in the field of sports to get coaches in various disciplines including swimming, table tennis, volleyball and wushu. A meeting, in this regard, was held between PSB Director General Dr Muhammad Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera and Cultural Counsellor of the Embassy of China Mr Zhang Yingbao at the counsellor’s offices here on Friday.

The PSB official explained the motives for convening the meeting. The agenda discussed in the meeting included provision of the services of Chinese coaches in swimming, table tennis, volleyball and wushu, nomination of Chinese sports speaker and presenter in international sports conference to be held in Islamabad during April-May 2015 and provision of training facilities to young Pakistan athletes in China.

Dr Nawaz asked Mr Zhang to help in providing services of Chinese coaches in field of swimming, table tennis, volleyball and wushu. The Chinese counsellor assured that he would try to provide the services of Chinese coaches expeditiously to make arrangement for training of Pakistan athletes in China. However, he asked the PSB to come forward with a proposal in writing as an agreement already exists regarding exchange of sports delegations.
