Chinese Super League giants Guangzhou Evergrande FC have signed a strategic deal with La Liga giants Real Madrid FC at the Bernabeu on Monday.
Xu Jiayin, Chairman of the CSL side, together with Real Madrid’s President Florentino Pérez inked the deal which aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between the sides.
Up to now, however, no detail of the deal has been disclosed, triggering rumours that Guangzhou Evergrande might be the exclusive regional partner of Real Madrid within China.
The two parties will also reportedly collaborate closely in player exchange with various reports linking Guangzhou Evergrand’s Zhang Linpeng, who had been heavily linked with Chelsea in the previous transfer window, joining Real Madrid on a loan in January.
Guangzhou Evergrande FC have been working together with the Real Madrid Foundation for the past few years, including the setting up of Evergrande Football School, the largest soccer training academy in the world.
