Dong Li, deputy general manager of PPTV Sports Co, visited Spain during the Chinese National Day and had some talks with Nacho M.Trujillo, La Liga Strategic Projects Director, and Ignacio Albarracin, General Manager of MediaPro, to better promote the Spanish Top football division in China.
The talks mainly focused on how to build on the current popularity of La Liga in China which is stimulated by La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid especially, and fully integrate resources from each side to draw more fans and eventually to realize a leap forward for the league in China.
Dong Li said La Liga has great advantage to further develop in China. The only thing PPTV has to do is to fully exploit the great power through integrated operations both on and off line. Mr. Dong also revealed they have reached broad consensus on the cooperation details.
As a major online sports streamer in China, PPTV Sports secured a multi-media deal at a reported value around 250 million euro to broadcast the Spanish Soccer League La Liga matches for the next five seasons earlier in August.
Since their partner-up, La Liga has done a lot to be favorable to Chinese, which further strengthened its great presence in China market. The League changed its traditional kick-off time of some matches to 4pm to benefit Chinese TV audience and also plans to open an office in Shanghai in November.
