Hong Kong will host its first Arnold Classic Asia in August, continuing the multi-sport event's worldwide expansion and putting the fitness event on six continents in 2016.
The first Asian edition of the fitness event will be held from August 19 to 21 and , according to event organizers ,will include the Arnold Classic Asia men's professional bodybuilding contest, an amateur bodybuilding contest, a large health and fitness expo and select amateur sports competitions and demonstrations.
Co-founded by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jim Lorimer of Worthington in 1989, the Arnold Sports Festival now features more than 18,000 athletes competing in 55 sports and events drawing 185,000 attendees from more than 80 nations.
The event’s global expansion began in 2011 with the creation of the Arnold Classic Europe, held every year since then in Madrid, Spain. Rio de Janeiro staged the first Arnold Classic Brasil in 2013 and the Arnold Classic Australia was held in Melbourne in March 2015. The first Arnold Classic South Africa will be held in Johannesburg in May 2016.
