Sina to release its media plan for 2016 Rio Olympics

Sina, a popular news portal in China, is soon to release its media plan for the 2016 Rio Olympics, according to a recent report. The opening meeting will be held in the Bird’s Nest this afternoon and will be attended by media members from all over the world.

Though details of the ceremony have not been disclosed, the discussion will focus on Olympic broadcasting models, Sina’s partnerships with international media giants and the sponsorship of Chinese teams. 

Sina Corp is a Chinese online media company catering for Chinese communities around the world. It operates four major business lines: Sina Weibo, Sina Mobile, Sina Online and Sina.net. 

With the development of the sports industry, many Chinese media giants are beginning to review their business strategy for sport. Sina Sports is one of them. It is said that the media company is seeking breakthroughs in sports pan-entertainment, customized services and crossover cooperation.
