By Pu Yang 23 Dec 2015

South Korea's premier MMA organization, Road FC, is expanding into China with the Road Fighting Championship to be hosted in Shanghai on 26 December, 2015.

According to several Chinese media reports, Xiaomi, one of the leading Chinese electronic companies, has become the title sponsor of the event to be held in the Chinese metropolis. However, the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The event will be  broadcast live across China through state-owned broadcaster CCTV alongside terrestrial broadcaster Qinghai TV and the online streaming platform of Tencent, the largest internet company in Asia.

Road FC has also sealed a wide-ranging deal with a series of game providers in China, which include Tencent, Qihoo360, Baidu, Xiaomi and KaoKao.

Road FC, the Asian version of UFC, has organized 28 Road Fighting Championships since it was launched in 2011. It embarked on a global expansion plan last year and held its first ever international event in Tokyo, Japan in 2015.
