Heilongjiang Sports Bureau, the governing body for sport in Heilongjiang Province, announced in a recent press release that the first Chinese Snow Football League will be organized in the northeast Chinese province, commencing on January 16, 2016.
The event, co-organized by the sports and football governing bodies in Heilongjiang Province, will be undertaken by a Harbin-based culture and sports company, Bozhong Tiancheng. The competition, by far the most unique sporting event at national level, will see 8 different provincial 5-a-side teams compete for the title. The 2016 Chinese Snow Football League has adopted knockout competition rules.
According to the announcement, the tournament will be broadcast live through online streaming. To ensure a better engagement with fans, the organizers will take greater advantage of new media as part of their event promotions.
As reported, Heilongjiang Sports Bureau is expected to agree a strategic partnership deal with Bozhong Tiancheng, in which the two sides will work together to organize the Chinese Snow Football League annually and grow the tournament gradually.
