Beijing company expands into sports

By Pu Yang 12 Jan 2016

Beijing Weiying Technology Co., Ltd recently announced the establishment of a new independently operated sport unit named WeSai to tap into the growing sports industry in China.

With this move, Weiying Technology will expand its portfolio in sports by highlighting its e-ticketing services around sports. The company plans to make WeSai into a leading service platform in sports based on sporting ticket services.

The launch of Wesai, as seen by many, follows on from the strategic partnership reached last December between Weiying and iRENA, a leading sports company that has a strong presence in sport events, venue management and fan bases in China.

With the rights to agent ticketing services for a range of high-profile sports events and sports teams, WeSai will integrate both online and offline services into a service platform for Chinese sports enthusiasts.

Weiying Technology was previously an entertainment-oriented marketing and service platform that has the financial backing of a range of Chinese commercial giants, including Tencent, Wanda and CMC. Now, with its e-ticketing system, it has become a more comprehensive platform with the authorization to sell tickets for the likes of CSL, CBA, NBA China and even e-sports events.
