By Chen Yaping 24 Feb 2016

Hong Kong fans will be able to watch the Chinese Super League (CSL) for the next two seasons through Le Sports, the subsidiary of China’s internet giant LeEco, as announced at a media conference on Tuesday.

Cheng Yizhong, CEO of Le Sports Hong Kong, revealed they would provide coverage of 480 live matches of the CSL worldwide for 2016 and 2017. Subscribers can view through LeEco’s set-top boxes, smartphones or personal computers with an annual fee of HK$990.

Cheng also said they were in discussion with FIFA regarding the multimedia rights for the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia. The Hong Kong Premier League would be their target as well.

Live coverage of the CSL will also be available in Taiwan, Macau, the United States, Canada, Thailand and India, Cheng added.

It was reported that Le Sports has officially been awarded the exclusive global broadcasting rights to China’s top football league. The new CSL season will start on March 4.
