Le Sports Chongqing yesterday (24 Feburary) announced a partnership with Chongqing FA and Chongqing Evening News to launch 6 grassroots soccer leagues and tournaments in Southwest China.
The threeparties announced at the joint press conference that the six competitions willcover approximately1,800 teams and over 20,000 participants from Chongqing. The move will enable Chongqing to have amateur soccer competitions from March to December 2016.
Speaking about the partnership, Chen Xin, Managing Director at Le Sports Chongqing, said “We hope to build a comprehensive platform for people who love soccer in Chongqing.”
“Not only will we provide services, but also more vigour and quality to Chongqing’s amateur soccer leagues which belong to the fans.”
Le Sports is one of the leading sports companies in China, and it is usually seen as a big spender on the rights to major sports events. This is the latest example of heavy investment by Le Sports’ after sealing the deal for the global digital rights totheChinese Super League for RMB2.7 billion.
