The PGA Tour has agreed a partnership deal with China’s Funfun Golf to launch an official Chinese website for the PGA following a two month pilot run.
Under the agreement, Funfun Golf will be exclusively responsible for developing, updating and operating this new website until 2020. The new website will enable the PGA Tour to engage Chinese audiences with live streaming, live scores, data, VOD and calendar. In addition to the PGA Tour’s media rights, the deal also enables Funfun Golf to work with the PGA Tour on derivative products.
Chen Tianxingzi, CEO of Funfun Golf, said “Golf will return to the Olympic Games in 2016 after a 122 year absence, which offers China’s sports industry, including golf, unprecedented opportunities (to develop) in the mobile internet era.”
“We are glad to form this alliance with the PGA Tour in such a positive year and to show the world’s top-class golf event to Chinese fans through the website and other derivative products.”
