China Ice Star Company (Chinese: 华星体育 ) announced last Saturday (April 2) that it has reached a strategic partnership with Adidas’ sub-brand CCM Hockey, the world's largest ice hockey gear provider.
According to the deal, the two sides will launch the first CCM World Invitational from July 31 to August 8 this year. As stated in a China Radio International (CRI) report, the event is expected to attract more than 80 teenage teams from over ten countries worldwide. The pair aim to build up the largest ever youth ice hockey tournament in Asia.
Prior to the event an ice hockey carnival will be held, which will become a happy gathering for children to to experience the charm of the ice sport.
In addition to this, the partners are going to set up China's first ice hockey training center, which features high-end facilities, well-established training systems and professional coaching supports.
China Ice Star is the first domestic company that focuses on ice hockey education. In the past year it has built two high-spec ice hockey venues and a training center which covers an area of 12,000 square meters in Beijing.
