China’s first professional e-sports league

China's first large-scale individual Electronic Sports League, China DOTA2 League (DPL)will be officially launched on May 18. It is organized and sponsored by the State Sports General Administration of the Sports Information Center.

As the organizer Shanghai Culture Media CEO Zhang Yu said, the establishment of the professional league is based on efficient management and event branding.

Fixtures will cover two quarters from May to December, which includes rookie qualifiers, a rating points race, a league, a minor league system and other events.

At the same time, the Minister of Electronic Sports at the Ministry of General Administration of Sport, Tang Hua, announced that China will be the first to introduce the DPL athlete registration system to guide the domestic electronic competition and to protect the interests and rights of e-sports lovers. Therefore we can promote the development of e-sports and provide a solid institution, guaranteed for all players.
