LeSports has signed a strategic partnership deal with China Digital Culture (CDC) to seek futher co-operation in e-sports.
Under this partnership, the pair are looking to focus on e-sports star events, e-sports agency and programme production.
The signing ceremony was attended by Jeremy Lin, the pro basketball player from Charlotte Hornets. As a popular sports star among Chinese fans, Lin has also joined CDC’s e-sports squad.
As Lu Shan, CEO of LeSports’ brokerage arm, said, “LeSports has been striving to grow its e-sports and brokerage. Our partnership with CDC will help a lot to further exploit the commercial value of sports stars.”
“Take Lin as an example. He is an NBA player on the court, while he can also become an e-sports star off the court.” Lu added.
“It’s an extraordinary business model for us to combine e-sports with sports stars,” stated CDC’s President Xu Dongqi, “our co-operation with LeSports will definitely boost the development of celebrity e-sports.”
