Pay-TV channel Sky Sports has acquired the broadcasting rights to the Chinese Super League (CSL) for the next three seasons.
In recent years, Chinese football has shown increasing power in the sports industry. Many ex-Premier League stars, like former Chelsea midfielder Ramires, former Southampton striker Graziano Pelle and ex-Arsenal winger Gervinho, are currently plying their trade in China.
Though the financial terms are yet to be disclosed, the exclusive partnership will see the Chinese football league broadcast on UK television for the first time.
"This is more great news for football fans as we get set for our biggest ever season on Sky Sports," said Gary Hughes, Head of Football at Sky Sports.
"The Ping An Chinese Super League is attracting players from Europe and is creating a really exciting competition that will only add to an incredible line-up of live football on Sky Sports."
The first match to be shown will be on the 30th of July, when Shanghai Shenhua take on Jiangsu Suning.
