The 2016 Chinese Super League (CSL) has come to a conclusion and recently CSL officials released the average attendance rates for the 2016 Season.
According to the statistics for the 2016 Super League Season, the total audience reached 5.8 million, averaging 24,159 per match. Compared with 22,200 per game last season, it showed an increase of nearly 2,000 spectators per game. By the end of the 2016 season, more than 284 million people had watched the league on television. In addition, the number of viewers on the Web increased significantly.
As regards average attendance rates for the 2016 Season Guangzhou Evergrande attracted a total of 673,243 spectators, averaging 44,883 per game and topping the rankings.
Jiangsu Suning ranked second with average attendances of nearly 39,000. Beijing Guoan ranked third with an average of 38,000 spectators per game. Although the performances of Chongqing were not spectacular this season, many fans still came to watch their games. It ranked fourth with around 36,000 attending each match.
The teams that ranked 5th to 10th in their home games’ average attendance rate were: Shanghai SIPG Football Club, Shanghai Greenland Shenhua Football Club, Shijiazhuang Ever Bright Football Club, LIAONING FC, Tianjin Teda Football Club and Yanbian Fude Football Club. Teams ranking 11th to 16th were: Shandong Luneng Taishan Football Club, Hebei China Fortune FC, Henan Jianye FC, Changchun Yatai Football Club, The Hangzhou Green City Football Club and Guangzhou R&F Football Club.
