China Foreign Minister meets IOC President Bach

On December 11th, Wang Yi, the Foreign Minister of China, met the International Olympic Committee (IOC) President (Bach) in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Wang Yi said that the IOC, one of the most important international sporting organizations, has made great contributions to promoting global sports development and strengthening the friendship among people from different countries. As a supporter and participant of the Olympic Games, China has successfully hosted the Beijing Olympic Games and Nanjing Youth Olympic Games and is now preparing for the 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games. Sports are conducive both to the integrated development of human beings and the construction of a healthy China. China emphasizes the domestic development of the Olympic Games and is willing to strengthen itscooperation with the IOC. Wang believes that the Beijing Olympic Winter Games will be a great success and can contribute to the development of the Olympic Games.

Bach said that China has made a tremendous contribution to the IOC in various waysand thatthe IOC highly appreciates its cooperation with China. China’s ideas of how to developsports events including the 2022 Olympic Winter Games areat one withthe IOC, which is looking forward to strengthened cooperation with China and is willing to assist China in hosting the 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
