The fourth conference of the China-UK High-Level Exchange Dialogue Mechanism was held in Shanghai on Dec 6, 2016 and was a great success. Being an important pillar of the relationship between China and the UK, the British Council signed the Sino-British Campus Football Coach Training Framework together with the Federation of University Sports of China (FUSC), China School Sports Federation (CSSF), English Premier League(EPL) and the English Football Association (FA). The purpose of the agreement is to provide support for campus football development in China, to improve performance in football leagues and promote the popularity of the game of soccer in China by virtue of the advantages and resources of both the EPL and the FA. It is the first training framework established jointly by the two countries and is seen as a key milest one in football cooperation between China and the UK.
The Cultural and Education Section of the British Council plans to play an important role in the cooperation of common development of football between China and the UK. The plan includes designing the campus coach training framework jointly with CSSF and FUSC, coordinating British advantages and resources, as well as organizing a joint management team to help implement and evaluate the project and other associated work.
