By Yutang Sports 30 Mar 2017

As reported by Xinhuanet Beijing, on March 29, China Sports Media (CMC), issued a statement accusing some new media platforms of piracy of the international men’s football match between Iran and China in the recent FIFA WC Qualifier. CMC is the exclusive media rights holder of all 12 sports events of the Asian Football Confederation in mainland China for the period 2017-2020.

In the statement, CMC said that the rights infringement of the new media platforms included live broadcast rights and VOD rights. In the list CMC provided, there are dozens of media platforms involved in this infringement, including PC platforms – Bilibili & YYLive, mobile platforms – Voice of China Weibo account & Sina News, and OTT platforms – MoliseTV & BeeVideo etc.

CMC has specifically stated that it will have the criminal liability of these rights infringements investigated according to law, in order to protect its own legitimate rights and interests, as well as maintain the order and development of the sports copyright market.
