Tottenham Hotspur to identify and nurture budding footballers in China

By Nong Ruowen 08 Aug 2017

English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have organized two training camps this month in Nanjing and Shenzhen, with the purpose of identifying and developing talented football players aged between 10 and 14.

The training camp held at the Olympic Center in Nanjing opened on August 5 and lasted 2 days with over 100 young players participating. Eight of these young players qualified for the elite camp which will be carried out on Phuket Island, Thailand next year. These two groundbreaking camps are development initiatives backed by the long-term partnership between Tottenham and the AIA Group Limited, one of the leading insurance services providers and the London club's global partner. In these camps, Tottenham will send their highly trained coaches to Asia to offer technical coaching to young players, while the AIA aims to promote the idea of a healthy and good lifestyle.

The upcoming camp in Shenzhen will take place between August 20 to 22, media reports have said.
