August 8: Lander Sports announced that it has reached a strategic agreement with Yiwu city government of Zhejiang Province.
This agreement will see the two sides integrate Yiwu’s sports resources with Lander’s operation skills of sports eco-systems, to promote the sustainable development of the city’s sports industry.
Their aim is to stimulate sports spending and grow a diversified sports business in Yiwu.
The pair is also looking to create platforms for introducing mass participation events and competitive sports. Lander Sports is expected to make an RMB 4 billion investment to build up a 741-acre sports town, which will include businesses like youth training, entertainment, manufacturing, e-sports camps and recuperation, according to an official statement.
The sports company will invest extra RMB 2 billion to set up serveral public fitness centers, each covering 5 acres to 13 acres.
At the same time, Lander Sports is seeking to turn Yiwu into a city of sports, leisure and entertainment by rebuilding the city’s current cultural and sports facilities.
