Chinese smartphone manufacturer ZTE and Argentine Primera outfit Club Atlético Vélez Sarsfield, have jointly announced that ZTE have become the club's official sponsor for the upcoming 2017/18 season.

This deal will see ZTE's logo featured on the players' jerseys and on perimeter fences in the club's stadium. Meanwhile, ZTE will forge a tight partnership with the club in football events, fan-engagement campaigns and TV advertisements, allowing ZTE to engage with South American consumers, increase their brand awareness and promote their brand. 

Club Atlético Vélez Sarsfield is an Argentine sports club based in Liniers, Buenos Aires. Currently, it's a football team playing in Primera División, the highest level of the Argentine league system. Founded in 1910, the club have spent most of their history in the top tier of Argentine football and play their home games in the 49,540-capacity José Amalfitani stadium, where they have played since 1951.
