September 5: Chinese leading professional sports brand PEAK has signed a strategic agreement with the Brazil Olympic Committee (COB) on the sideline of the 2017 BRICS summit in Xiamen.
Under the terms of their partnership, the Chinese sportswear brand will provide kits for Brazil Olympic athletes and officials at international events including the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
As a leading sports brand in China, PEAK now has close ties with Russia, Brazil, India, and South Africa. In the early 1990s, the sports company started selling professional sports outfits in the Russian market. Later, PEAK became the partner of the VTB United League club BC UNICS Kazan and IES-BASKET, the Russian school basketball league.
The Chinese brand also displayed its logo at the 2016 Rio Olympics through sponsorship of athletes and officials from 12 different countries and regions.
“The BRICS countries have become important powers to promote the development of the world economy, push for changes in world order and maintain international peace and stability. Therefore, deepening the partnerships with those countries has become a key opportunity for PEAK’s international expansion plan,” said PEAK President Xu Jingnan.
