One of the major players in the Chinese sports media sector, NetEase Sports has signed up two pairs of Chinese figure skaters – Shen Xue & Zhao Hongbo, Sui Wenjing & Han Cong, naming them as “NetEase Ice & Snow Ambassadors” in this Winter Games period.
Under the terms of their agreements, NetEase becomes the exclusive internet media to interview the two pairs during figure skating events. The latest news about the four skaters will be synchronically delivered on NetEase’s subsidiary platforms, such as NetEase News, NetEase Open Course platform and Bohe Live platform.
Having been inducted into the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame, Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo were the first Chinese pair to win a medal at an International Skating Union event and at the World Figure Skating Championships. In 2010, they were the first Chinese skaters to win gold at the Winter Olympic Games in any figure skating category.
Although much younger than Shen and Zhao, Sui Wenjing and Han Cong are the new leaders in Chinese figure skating. They were the 2017 World Figure Skating Championships winners, making them the third pair to win gold following Shen & Zhao and Pang Qing & Tong Jian. Additionally, they are four-time Four Continents champions and three-time World Junior champions.
