The Australian sports apparel brand 2XU has officially announced its landing in the Chinese market at a press conference held in Shanghai.
To enter the market, the brand will establish a joint venture company with Ningbo Chisage Mulsanne Holding CO.,Ltd., a Chinese clothing company who owns the well known Chinese mens wear brand GXG.
Since September 1, 2017, 2XU has launched their official online store on tmall.com, Alibaba’s online shopping website and is preparing to open 2XU stores in China. According to 2XU, they plan to open their stores in 30 Chinese cities over the next 3 years. The brand has also set a goal in sales over the next 3 years including selling 140,000 compression pants.
Founded in 2005 by Clyde Davenport, Jamie Hunt and Aidan Clarke, 2XU is an Australian multinational brand focusing on the design, development and selling of sporting apparel including form-fitting compression sportswear for triathlon, cycling, running, open water swimming and general fitness wear.
Currently, the brand has reportedly opened over 3,000 stores in over 70 countries.
