Zhao Hongbo and Shen Xue
The winter sports department of the China’s General Administration of Sport (CGAS) announced on December 14 that the Chinese Figure Skating Association (CFSA) had been established in Beijing with Shen Xue, part of the infamous 2010 Pairs Figure Skating Olympic Champions being named as the new president of the CFSA.
It can be seen as a new chapter in the sport of figure skating in China, as it was managed independently by the Chinese Skating Association (CSA) in the past and not by its own association. The sports of short and long track speed skating will still be managed by the CSA as before.
Additionally, another Chinese national sports association has also confirmed its new leading team. At a conference hosted by the council of the Chinese Modern Pentathlon Association (CMPA), Shiny Fang was elected as the new president of the CMPA, while Zhang Bin and Shen Kejian were named as the CMPA’s new vice-president and secretary general respectively.
