On May 8, Alisports announced a strategic partnership with Hosa International, a Chinese indoor sportswear producer and sports retail operator, aiming to create a new retail model of sports service offering.
Under the partnership, the two sides will start an in-depth and comprehensive cooperation in online and offline commerce, sportswear business, sports services and big data.
Specifically, Hosa will integrate its offline gyms across China with Alisports’ e-commerce platforms, maximizing the commercial benefits for both parties. At the same time, Hosa users can also turn their step count into digital “Calorie Coin” provided by Alipay, which can be used as discount coupons when buying Hosa sports products.
The two partners will also develop sports-related products in accordance with international advanced standards, as well as work together to improve user experience through offline campaigns.
In addition to this, they are seeking cooperation opportunities in sports event marketing, sponsorship activation and products and service operation of smart sports cities in the future.
In April, Alisports announced its acquisition of Ledongli, a Chinese steps tracking app with over 55 million users, which means the sports company is looking to develop a “new retail” model.
