Reds to tour China, Malaysia and Australia in 2015 as part of this summer's pre-season preparations.
Dejan Lovren believes his assertion that Liverpool is “the biggest club in the world” will be confirmed by the scenes on this summer’s pre-season tour.
The Reds have announced that they will take on a Malaysia XI at Kuala Lumpur’s Bukit Jalil National Stadium on Friday, July 24.
It will be the final clash of a four-game tour with Liverpool stopping off in Malaysia on their way home from Australia. The Reds are playing in Brisbane on July 17 and in Adelaide three days later. The destination of the first match has yet to be confirmed but the tour is likely to begin in Macau, China.
The Reds last visited China in 2011 when 35,000 saw Kenny Dalglish’s side beat Guandgdong Sunray Cave 4-3 in Guangzhou. This time Liverpool is expected to visit the city of Macau – 40 miles west of Hong Kong – instead.
“It’s great to hear that we’re going far away to visit our fans,” Lovren said.
“I’ve heard so many positive things about Asia and Australia. I have never been before so it will be something new for me. It will be a great experience. It’s something I want to see and be a part of.
“We have so many fans there. It will be amazing.
“It’s one of the most important parts of the year as it’s when you build your strength for the season.
“I said when I signed that I had joined the biggest club in the world. I don’t know how many millions of fans we have. But to see all the fans on this tour will be something spectacular. We will enjoy every second with them.”
