American company Underwriter Laboratories sponsored Chinese golfer Feng Shanshan and two other golfers, according to Xinhua reports made on 2 April.
Underwriter Laboratories is the authority in US and the largest company in the world engaged in the field of safety check. It is an independent and profit-oriented professional institution engaged in this field.
Under this agreement, the three players will wear UL’s logo on their shirts until 2016.
Keith Williams, the CEO of UL, said that Shanshan and the other two players are obviously very good players, and that their reputation is the reason behind this sponsorship.
Feng Shanshan ranks 5th in the world, and has won LPGA four times. In 2012, she became the first Chinese player that has won the golf Grand Slam.
Another player is a Korean player, Cui Luolian, who ranks 16th in the world. The third player is Azahara Munoz, ranking 15th in the world.
