Chinese businesses supported snooker’s World Championship

By Yutang Sports 06 May 2015

The Betfred World Championship which was just finished earlier this week has witnessed many commercial Chinese elements, from players’ sponsorships, to equipment providers.

The most obvious Chinese element is the pool tables. The tables are provided by Chinese brand Star which began to provide pool tables for World Championship from 2010. All the judges also wear Star’s Chinese and English logos.

Another equipment provider for the event is Rigour Tech. The company provided Hawkeye product which is used to record matches and play accurate playbacks. The product was licensed by WPBSA to be a partner of its events around the world.

Some players wore logo patches of Chinese brands. Joe Perry and Mark Davis wore the logo of Chinese brand Aomi (O’ Min). Ding Junhui was sponsored by Evergrande Spring. Neil Robertson wore the logo of Yutang Sports, and Mark Selby wore the logo patch of Aodewei (Old World).

This year, World Snooker’s World Cup is also going to be held in China, in Wuxi of Jiangsu Province.
