K-Bird invests in Chinese campus sports

K-Bird, a Chinese clothing company, announced partnerships with five organizations and companies in China to explore business of campus sports. 

The five partners are Federation of University Sports of China (FUSC), China School Sports Federation (CSSF), Communication University of Shanxi, Hupu.com, Younisi (literally translated). They would establish three joint ventures to exploit the business of campus sports. 

The five parties will co-establish a company to focus on campus sports content. They will use domestic and international resources, including NCAA and other licensed international events, to build online broadcasting platforms of campus sports. 

The other two company will be jointly created by FUSC, CSSF, Hupu.com, Younisi, and K-Bird, to focus on organization of campus sport events and sport talent management respectively. 

K-Bird wants to create a comprehensive sports business chain related to campus sports. 

Before these moves, K-Bird has exhibited its ambitions in the general sports business world. In January 2015, K-Bird invested in the Hupu.com, one of China’s biggest sports websites, becoming the second largest share-holder. The company also purchased 49% stakes of Spanish football agency, BOY, by 20 million yuan.
