By He Lanying 17 Aug 2015

The State General Administration of Sports of China hold a meeting with the China Football Association (CFA) on the morning of August 17 and officially announced the separation of CFA from the General Administration of Sports.

CFL will be operated independently and have rights to make its own decisions on internal departments establishing, work planning, financial, personnel and salary management and international exchanges.

The restructured CFA will serve as both a public benefit organization and the sport's administrative body. Officials who formerly served on the CFA under the ministry will have no government status.

The Beijing Times, one of the main online newspaper in China, revealed that the complete separation of the Football Association will be finished at the end of this year when the Football Management Center will be disbanded.

Days ago, the General Administration of Sports asked some current officials of the football organization whether they intended to stay at their original positions after the separation. Most of the staff were willing to stay at their original positions, however, general manager of CSL Co. Liu Weidong announced his resign on last Friday. It was said that he would join in the management team of Wanda Sports, a newly founded sports division of Wanda Group.
