Beijing Hualu Baina Film & TV Inc. (HNB) has officially announced its partnership with Chinese Super League, the top football division in China in a bid to pursue greater development in China’s sports market. HBN has announced this news shortly after its partnership with CFA Cup in the week where HBN helped CFA Cup secured a mobile phone sponsor.
Peak captures headline by renewing contract with Slovenia
Peak, as one of the most renowned Chinese sports brand, a global partner of FIBA, renewed its sponsorship contract with Slovenia Olympic Committee. The new term is 8 years, which means during the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, and 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games, Slovenia athletes will wear Peak clothes.
Port Adelaide FC to break into Chinese market
Port Adelaide Football Club is on the hunt for a Mandarin-speaking commentator to call home games, as part of a push to break into the Chinese market, according to a news release on ABC website. Apart from the initiative, Port Adelaide Aboriginal Academy will travel to China to play an exhibition game. The Academy will play against China's national Australian Football team in an exhibition game. The match against Team China will be held in Guangzhou.
China’s Wanda completes $650 million World Triathlon buy
China’s Dalian Wanda Group has confirmed that it will pay $650 million to acquire sports rights group World Triathlon Corporation. Wanda will launch extreme sports events in China. The Ironman endurance race, which combines extreme cycling, swimming and running events, was bought by private equity firm Providence Equity Partners in 2008, for an undisclosed sum. Reports earlier this month had pegged Wanda’s purchase price as high as $850 million.
TCL brand partners with MLS side LA Galaxy FC
Alcatel OneTouch, a TCL Communication brand, has joined fellow Chinese smartphone maker ZTE in raising brand awareness through sports sponsorships in the U.S after its announcement of a multi-year partnership deal with five-time MLS Cup champions LA Galaxy and the team’s home stadium, the StubHub Center. The company becomes the official smartphone and tablet partner of the team and the multiple-use stadium.
FC Bayern set to open subsidiary in Shanghai
Bundesliga giants FC Bayern Munich are reportedly set to open a subsidiary in Shanghai, China, according to their director of internationalization and strategy, JörgWacker. This global expansion move would mark the opening of FC Bayern’s second overseas office after their first unveiling in New York City last April.
