Sheikh Mansour, owner of Premier League side Manchester City FC, is keen to acquire a team from Chinese Super League (CSL), according to Naver, the largest portal site based in South Korea.

The South Korean website revealed that Mansour expected to buy a Beijing-based or Shanghai-based club of the Chinese top tier football league, making Beijing Guoan alongside Shanghai SIPG, Shanghai Greenland Shenhua and Shanghai Shenxin become 4 potential candidates if Mansour and his City Football Group (CFG) would make further movement.

The owner of Manchester City FC has established a strong presence in soccer after having spent heavily in club acquisitions in various continental markets including Europe, North America and Australia over the past few years.

As part of the ambition in the sport and markets, CFG bought into Japan Professional Football League side Yokohama Marinos in May 2014.

But the tycoon from Middle East may want more than that with eyeing on CSL club and Chinese market.
