Chinese online community Goski launched a mobile application for iOS in September 27 and an app for Android would be followed on October 12.
The online community company got angel investment from Crystal Stream in July and a few days ago its founder revealed the number -- 1 million dollars, according to some Chinese media.
The idea of the online community was said to be born at the start of this year based on the rich experience of Lai Gang, the founder, in the field. They are focusing on providing basic and necessary information to starters who want to try the sport but lack the required knowledge. They also have specialty in skiing equipments and relevant information, as Lai owns a skiing equipment store.
The website of the online community provides news and insights of the sports and some videos. The app provides two sections, snowboard and ski.
Media reports that there are about 5,000 users in the online community, and Lai thinks that it would not be difficult to reach more than 10,000 users once the app for Android is launched.
Sports Money reports that Lai says they are going to use celebrity effects to do marketing: to invite famous people in China to participate in the sport; they also want to buy overseas teaching videos for users, and have made some videos themselves.
