By Zhang Tingting 26 Oct 2015

Chinese electronic appliance manufacturer Haier sponsored Qingdao China Sailing on the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road.

Qingdao China Ship is going to start a voyage on the route of the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road. The concept was proposed by the Chinese President Xi Jinpin in 2014 for the joint development of countries along that route. The complete concept is the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road Initiative.

This voyage by Qingdao China Ship was part of the efforts by the city of Qingdao to resonate with the Belt and Road Initiative. The fleet of Qingdao China will sail along South Asia and South Europe and pull over at some cities including Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Mirissa, Mumbai, Alexandre, Genoa, and Monaco. The voyage will be headed by famous Chinese sailing professionals Guo Chuan and Song Kun.

As one of the sponsors of this voyage, Haier look forward to utilize this opportunity to showcase Qingdao manufacturing and the quality and strength of made-in-China to the world, said Wang Guohua, the Brand Director of Haier. Wang said that the initiative spirit of Haier over the 30 years matches well with the sport.

Haier would organize a series of talk shows with Guo Chuan and other cultural celebrities in Shanghai and Guangzhou to discuss life wisdoms in different cities, and will film mini videos in cities like Mumbai and Monaco to share with their customers.
