Spanish top football division side Valencia CF is reportedly to cooperate with Shanghai on football development in China, according to online.shanghai.
Peter Draper, Valencia CF Commercial and Marketing Director, visited Shanghai on November 2 and had talks with representatives from Shanghai including Zhou qiwei, Deputy Director of Pudong Sports and Education Bureau, Ma Chunfu, head of the Sports Department and Sun Ji, founder of a Chinese football company.
The two sides expressed their strong desire for cooperation with each other on various aspects. They’ve exchanged in-depth views on various topics, including how to import top European football resources into China, to optimize youth football training and coach training and to create flagship events in China. The two sides have reached a preliminary consensus on above topics and will soon work out an effective and practical plan.
Zhou Qiwei said, “Shanghai is an inclusive city. We are glad to have a top European club like Valencia CF to Pudong. We hope to seize the opportunity and bring in premium European club resources, which will be beneficial to Chinese young football fans and also lay a solid foundation for the development of future football stars in China. ”
