Le Sports to launch golf e-community in 2016

By Chen Yaping 03 Dec 2015

With the commencement of the 2016 European Tour last Saturday, LeTV Golf began its exclusive broadcasting arrangement in China. Users will now be able to link to the online digital portal to watch events live.

A few days ago, on November 22nd, Rory McIlroy,  the Northern Irish professional golfer, won both the DP World Tour Championship and the Race to Dubai crown. The events caught the imagination of some 830,000 golf fans, attracting a record-breaking number of 311,910 unique visitors to LeTV.

Le Sports has maintained its impressive golf portfolio including the US Masters, the European Tour, the LPGA Tour, the Ryder Cup, the PGA Championship and the Open Championship. Every year, the media company is able to broadcast golf events for an average of 2000 hours. This makes it one of China’s  leading media outlets as regards golf copyrights.

LeTV Golf certainly values its e-community operation and user engagement. It is devoted to the launch of an online-to-offline golf platform. At present, the company operates more than 80 WeChat groups of Le Golfer, where fans share insights about the tournaments. It is rumored that it will officially launch a product on  golf’s  e-community in 2016.
