Chinese Super League side Tianjing Teda Football Club held a press conference with its newest sponsor Elion Resources Group on January 6 to officially announce their three-year partnership. They also launched the new edition of the club’s matchday shirt for the season which carries Elion’s company logo. 

Under the partnership, the Tianjin-based CSL club will be renamed Tianjin Teda Elion FC in time for the new season’s Chinese Super League and Chinese FA Cup.

In addition, Elion Resources Group CEO, Wang Wenbiao, revealed that they will build a football training base for Teda FC in China’s Kubuqi desert. The extreme conditions there are believed to contribute to the physical strength and endurance of Teda players. 

Elion is a multi-billion privately-owned resources group that focuses on the desert economy, clean energy, natural pharmacy, new materials and cultural tourism. The Holding Company "Elion Energy" was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in July 2000, and achieved revenue of RMB 30 billion in 2012.
