Alibaba, YuuZoo expand esports partnership to SE Asia

By He Lanying 18 Apr 2016

Singapore-based social networking company YuuZoo and Chinese conglomerate Alibaba have expanded their recently formed esports partnership into six Southeast Asian countries.

According to an online website Business Times, YuuZoo announced the expansion last Thursday. The six Southeast Asian markets are Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines.

As is the case in China, AliSports will pay YuuGames an agreed fee to organise and run WESG throughout South East Asia.

As in China, YuuZoo expects to gain a significant number of new users, who will be added to YuuZoo's fast-growing user base, and generate significant additional revenue from promotional fees, advertising revenue and e-commerce sales, according to the company.

Originally, AliSports reached a partnership deal with Yuuzoo on March 30. Under the agreement, YuuZoo will organize and run the AliSports World Electronic Sport Games (WESG), as well as manage the E-Sports Clubs Competition Center for Alibaba throughout China.

YuuGames is a joint venture by YuuZoo and XG AMA while AliSports is the sports division of Alibaba which targets China's sports industry.
