Sports startup announces wide-ranging deals

By Pu Yang 27 Jun 2016

51 GoSports, founded by retired Chinese Olympic champion Chen Yibing, announced  wide-ranging strategic deals at China’s General Administration of Sports (GAS) last Wednesday.

According to the announcement, the sports company is now a strategic partner and the exclusive software service provider of GAS’s Human Resources Development Center and Occupational Skill Testing and Instruction Center in related training and exams.

Apart from the partnership with GAS, the company also announced deals with 360, Huajiao, JD Sports and JD Finance. Under the agreement, 51 GoSports will work together with JD Sports on promoting and branding JD’s sports events. And 51 GoSports will also provide online education for sports trainers with the help of JD Sports. In addition to JD Sports, JD Finance will also give 51 GoSports a boost in helping retired athletes deal with transition after their sports careers are over.

“More sports persons deserve to benefit from the sports industry (which is in their prime time) as they’ve done a great deal for it. So the market has to help them grow and advance (in return),” said Chen.

51 GoSports is a sports start-up established by former Olympic champion Chen Yibing last year.
