YBDL sign contract with Iverson

By Mei Zhu 26 Oct 2016

At a press conference on the morning of October 25th in Beijing, Allen Iverson officially announced that he will serve as chief coach of the Youth Basketball Development League (YBDL) for the next two years. Iverson also plans to launch a new sports brand, AI3, that produces children's clothing.

Iverson will receive about ten thousand dollars a year in reward. He will film commercials and VR courses for YBDL and participate in curriculum making. As well as this, he will come to China and impart skills and experience to the young trainees. These trainees will have the opportunity to take part in basketball training camps in the United States. Additionally, trainees will receive a diploma signed personally by Iverson.

As a professional Basketball Training Institution, YBDL has more than 40 teaching locations and over 30 full-time coaches in Shanghai. Nor is this YBDL’s first cooperation with NBA stars. In August this year, NBA stars McGrady and Carter, the cousins, appeared at the YBDL basketball training camp in Shanghai Huangpu Sports Center as guest trainers.
