ELEVEN to broadcast NBA in Taiwan

By Sean O Diobhilin 23 Nov 2016

Basketball fans in Taiwan will soon be able to watch their favourite teams thanks to a new partnership announced on Monday 21st November. The National Basketball Association(NBA) has teamed up with the ELEVEN SPORTS NETWORK to bring the North American league to Taiwanese fans.

The agreement takes effect from tomorrow, 24th November, and will run for the 2016/17 season. ELEVEN SPORTS will broadcast three live games every week, games from the NBA Playoffs & Finals as well as the NBA All-Star Weekend. There will also be daily highlights and NBA programmes.

ELEVEN SPORTS is a relatively new global sports provider, set up in 2015.“We are delighted to further expand and bring world-class sport to fans in Taiwan,” said Danny Menken, Group MD of ELEVEN SPORTS.

The NBA enjoys widespread popularity in Taiwan and much of this can be attributed to the exploits of Jeremy Lin, the only NBA player of Taiwanese descent. He famously led a winning turnaround with the New York Knicks in 2012, which generated a huge global following known as "Linsanity."

Taiwanese fans can sign up for NBA content via the ELEVEN SPORTS website at www.elevensports.tw or through the app, available on Google Play and the App Store.
