By Nong Ruowen 28 Jun 2017

A signing ceremony was held on June 26 in Shanghai where Chinese Super League side Shanghai Greenland Shenhua signed a partnership deal with Greenland Long Island, a business and tourism complex built by Greenland Group. As reported by 163.com, Shanghai Shenhua Deputy General Manager Zhou Jun and Greenland Group Business Department Marketing Director Xu Ning attended this ceremony and jointly signed the deal.

As the representative of Shanghai Shenhua, Zhou officially acclaimed Greenland Long Island as “the exclusive youth training base of Shanghai Shenhua”. According to 163.com, Shanghai Shenhua’s initiative is to partner with Greenland Long Island‘s natural advantages and their long-term support for Shanghai’s sports.

Zhou also revealed that due to the Chinese Football Association’s new policies regarding U23 players would be a major concern. As a result, Shanghai Shenhua plan to build a training base to coach and develop young players. It has also been reported that 3 or 4 pitches would be built in the first phase of this training base’s construction, while more pitches would be laid in the subsequent construction phases. It is expected that once the construction project kicks off the training base will be open within 1 year.
