July 16: As one of the selected teams competing in the 2017 International Champions Cup, AC Milan have arrived in Guangzhou and have attended a press conference with Li Yonghong, the new President and new owner of the Serie A giants.

During this press conference AC Milan outlined their football training plans for the Chinese football market. In the future, they will set up a wholly-owned subsidiary company in China to take charge of the club’s business operation in the Chinese market. Moreover, AC Milan have signed an agreement with the China Next Generation Education Foundation (CNGEF)allowing them to jointly create the “AC Milan Special Fund”, a project aimed at supporting and promoting the sport of football in Chinese schools.

According to CNGEF’s President Wang Ping, CNGEF and AC Milan will jointly carry out  promotional activities to popularize the sport of football in Chinese schools with AC Milan paying for the project and sending their coaches to those schools to provide football coaching courses.

To kick start this project, over 100 primary schools in Beijing, Guangdong Province, Shanxi Province and Jilin Province have been selected as the target schools. It is hoped that after 3 years, the courses will take place in over 1,000 primary schools all over China.
